Rooibos originated in South Africa near the Cape of Good Hope.  It is an herbal plant and used as an alternative to tea.  It is practically devoid of caffeine and tannins but yet full of flavour. It can be used as a relaxing hot drink or made into chilled iced tea for a hot summer day. This enjoyable tea is an ideal beverage for all ages.

Appearance:
Brews into a reddish brown hue from the dark red leaves.

Aroma:
Notes of cinnamon, wet earth and honey leap from the cup after the first steeping.  The aroma lingers even after the cup has cooled.

Taste:
Smooth to drink with little or no tannins.  Rooibos imparts slightly sweet cinnamon taste with some almond nuttiness.  The finish leaves a short light taste of dark fresh smoked tree bark.
