Loading... Please wait...Lapsang Souchong is a black tea made by smoke drying over pinewood fires. The origins of this tea came about during the Qing dynasty when the armies passing through the Wuyi hills delayed the annual drying of tea leaves. In order to satisfy the demands of the army and local drinkers, the tea producers sped up the drying process by having their workers dry the leaves over fires made from local pines.
Lapsang can be found as an ingredient for many recipes such as the famed Chinese tea eggs. We carry top grade Lapsang. The balance of smokiness and flavour creates a sweet enjoyable effect.
