This is a green tea from Dong Ting lake region of China. It is harvested early spring luminating both its delicacy and tenderness. The tea leaves are rolled in a sprial into the shape of a spring snail. When the tea leaves unfurl during the brewing process, it will reveal two leaves attached to one bud.  Its original name, Xia Sha Ren Xiang or "scarily fragrant", has it in folklore that during the Qing Dynasty, a tea picker who ran out of space in her basket, began collecting the tea between her bosom. The tea, warmed by her body heat, emitted such a strong aroma that it startled the girl. The Emperor Kangxi upon hearing the story decided it was better to call it a more civilized name: Bi Luo Chun.

This is a very highly regarded tea and was ranked first among all Chinese green teas in the late 1800s early 1900s. We carry 1st grade quality offering an exuberance in stateliness.
